![]() ![]() Losing that voidform at 40 stacks instead of 59 or 60 meant you were behind now for the next 2 to 3 cycles and that could feel pretty frustrating especially if it was due to a boss mechanic. Losing a voidform too early, especially in the Legion iteration (which I rate the most fun), where you had this really cool flow of back to back 1 minute void forms (voidform for 1 minute, 5 seconds downtime, voidform for 1 minute again), could feel extremely frustrating. I’m not saying that Voidform and Insanity Drain did not have their problems. This dissonance between CE raiders and LFR raiders meant that topics on Shadow Priest were extremely divisive and, of course, the loud minority won. However, the amount of skill-expression it had meant that people who did not want to improve and did not put in the effort to improve would see horrible results when compared to those who truly sought to master the spec. ![]() I believe Legion Spriest was the most fun spec Blizzard has ever designed. To that end, Blizzard, I ask you the following question: Why did you have to change the spec to cater to these people instead of telling these people to change their spec or class to something that would better suit them? It felt like an attempt to cater to the vocal minority who though the spec was too punishing, too hard, too unwieldy to play simply because they did not wish to put in the time or effort to learn this spec. The high end raiders, the pvp’ers who masochistically put themselves through the torture of playing SPriest in PvP and, above all, the people in the Shadow Priest community who have, consistently, sung the praises of Legion’s iteration of Shadow Priest and admonished the rework for what it was: a dumbing down of the spec.įrom the start, I’ve been skeptical, at best, of the new direction Blizzard envisioned for Spriest in the Shadowlands. I speak only for myself with this post but I’ve seen my thoughts echoed by those who shared in the joy of playing Shadow Priest in Legion, especially those who dedicated themselves to mastering the class and the game.
